Thanal Balasramam started functioning from June 2002 at the sacred meeting-point of Nila-Gayathri Rivers at Mayannur in Thrissur District under Registration No. 1331 from the Orphanage Control Board and spreads over a landed property of one acre and twenty cents. It is an abode of the destitute and victims of penury and such ill-fated ones are taken care of here. The Ashram has more than sixty inmates.
